“Under the Covers” spawned out of The Sugar People hosting a Thursday Night Music Club at their studio in Detroit, MI. Each week the core members invite different musicians to come and play their instruments. How the songs are chosen? Well, that the fun. Nobody knows what the group is going to be working on until they are set up and ready to play. Sort of a “Iron Chef” secret ingredient play on the music club idea. Each week a new song will be available as a free download. This week is TNT by AC DC

Ray Stable Review #0010

“take a break” is pretty epic - nice touch with that (organ?) solo coming in toward the end…
like some sweet middle ground between Stevie Wonder and Gomez - lotta interesting things happening throughout this record - i wasn’t sure what to expect…whatever it was i expected, maybe pop-rock?…was turned on its side… there’s subtle shades of soul and r&b - but mainly funk! lots of these guitar parts (and i’m talking on the ray stable album, especially on “miles” - have a funk to it… but i say a bit of soul because it all seems to have a nice, measured, instantaneous groove to it - it’s smooth…

i dunno - that’s what i think
i dig these subtle funk elements
